Answers to some of the questions you may have…

  • I utilize the Gottman Method when working with couples. I am a level 2 certified Gottman Therapist and have years of experience working with couples using the Gottman Method

  • The Gottman Method is a research based style of therapy. Through their 40+ years of research, John and Julie Gottman have designed tools to help couples strengthen their relationships in three primary areas: friendship, conflict management, and creation of shared meaning. Couples learn to replace negative conflict patterns with positive interactions and to repair past hurts. Interventions designed to increase closeness and intimacy are used to improve friendship, deepen emotional connection, and create changes which enhances the couples shared goals

  • Gottman Therapy begins with an assessment stage. Our first few sessions typically will have the following stucture:

Session #1: Couples session to discuss reasons for entering therapy and goals for treatment

Sessions #2&3: Individual session for each partner

Session #4: I will give you a written report of my assessment of your relationship along with a game plan for our sessions moving forward.
